Where do we go from here?

The server is in a slump now. The reason? It's boring. Yes, people aren't creative and do not contribute to the server one bit, bit even if they did, it still would be boring. Maybe a little less.
It seems like it's dying, but this time for real. Why? I'll tell you why. And it didn't happen over night, it was happening over the course of the past few years. It all began when we slowly started transitioning towards more of a strict RP style.

Remember the good old days when people weren't bitching and RPing to win, but were having fun and didn't care about being famous/becoming admins/helpers/whatever? The era of the gangs, like Blue Dynasty and La Onda, all the good shit. Yeah, you probably don't.
Everything that was fun in this server was removed/descripted or is gone for the sake of "more realism".
Then the master account applications were introduced, who knows how many players would RCRP now have if that didn't happen.
Good folk left, great Roleplayers who had great leadership skills and could lead factions -> great factions died because the founding members have left.
The hitman faction was descripted because nobody gave a shit or listened to the members cries for years when they asked for scripts or updates of ANY sort. Eventually, some memebers couldn't be bothered anymore, so they started abusing faction commands and fucking around because there was hardly anything else to do, thus the faction earned the bad reputation. We literally had the same commands since early 2010 until the period when Karner was a developer so he scripted a few more things for us.
A lot of good people left in the meanwhile, people who constantly created RP.
So much happened in the meanwhile that I can't even keep track off, but one of the more recent events that had a huge impact on the server - Aperture being descripted. The only faction truly unique to RCRP. That hit the server pretty bad even if it doesn't seem like it - as much as you like to deny it. Half if not more of the most active players were in Aperture OR trying their best to get noticed so they could join, because everyone knew it was fun in there. Once it was removed, many people left or stopped playing as actively as they did, myself included.

So what's left nowadays?

In all honesty though, he's right. What's the point anymore?
With Donum Dei, and now Aperture gone, there's no point in RP'ing shit as you're not going to get noticed by any of the fun and secret factions, honestly.. That's what motivated me a lot of the time, was due to the fact I wanted to impress these Roleplay'ers.
Now, you're either an Administrator, a wannabe Administrator, Helper, Tester, or troll, everything else has no meaning, whatsoever.

The appeal of power. Not the responsibility.

Exactly. Now those people have the power, RCRP is what it is today.

It's all well and good saying "We need a new owner" but.... no one can force Tommy to hand it over, it's still his server and he won't just hand it over to someone else.

There's some very good points being made here. I see too much fucking around on the behalf of some admins. Some admins spend all the time fucking around with their friends and not doing any admin duties, the community seems to be very hostile and I see minimal RP now days.

I've been here since January 2013 and I love it here on it's good days but recently I've become so stressed out with this server, it's a strange thing to say and it probably sounds stupid but at times I really do get stressed out and paranoid with this server, I don't know what's going to happen next, who's going to backstab who and sometimes it's generally just not a nice place. Having said that, other times it's very good fun. It's just a very confusing situation overall to be honest.

Sad things happen when your position is way past your intelligence.
Aswell when your social skills are superior to your intelligence and knowledge how to properly deal with e.g problems.

RCRP died when Blue Dynasty and old school faction warfare died, after being an admin on this server for a year and a bit I got alot of piss poor attitude from people because I banned them regardless of whether they were my friend or not for fucking around or breaking rules.. There is way to much corruption in the administrative team and the RP is down to simply shootouts and E-Sex (which makes me lol).

Red County Roleplay will remain dead until something is done to revive the classic days of RCRP where someone would RP selling drugs in the alley to strangers and cops actually roleplayed cops instead of gunslingers that shoot first and ask questions later. When RCRP was controlled and actually Heavy RP instead of the Lite RP server that RCRP has become today.

Yeah, and that's what's wrong with a lot of people, k secretz factionz gone, yolo no need to RP anymore, I can't become one of them. RP should be done for fun not to join some secret faction as if you've finished a storyline of a game or whatever. Go play singleplayer if you want that. Your arguements are invalid.

No, our arguments are not invalid. That's only your opinion. RCRP initially wasn't a strict RP server, it was more about fun. It was about doing the things you couldn't do in real life, being someone you aren't, making an interesting character and having fun with it by RPing different situations. To SOME degree of realism. Not fully realistic and common. Not like you're having a second virtual life in this game. Which is what it is now, or at least people are trying to make it seem so.
I don't wanna RP that. Most people don't wanna RP that. If you do, you might as well get off the computer and face the real world.
I don't know about you, but many of RCRP's players joined when RCRP has moved to the next stage of being a more serious RP server, they never experienced the earlier stages.
That's when RCRP was fun. But those times are over. However we're still here, and for myself at least, I can't really adapt to this way of RP, despite being on the server for so long and RPing on it all these years.
I just miss the old RCRP and the old ways.

I always respected you as a Roleplayer and as an Admin. Just wanted you to know, not everyone hated you.
