Well, I'm looking forward to see this update coming on RCRP too, from what I've heard and read it is very cool. Can't wait to get rid of that 1gb modloader.

Again, mods cannot be added without permission from the author. Also the only file types that can be added are TXD and DFF, so mods that edit game values are impossible along with vehicles as they require handling lines.

True, but I believe someone mentioned something about vehicle mods in a future SAMP version, which could be possible if instead of replacing vehicles you just add more to the game (it's possible with skins and vehicles in the singleplayer version, correct me if I'm wrong).

I don't know about that, cause it would be more complicated to add a car or weapon. The skins are just skins, we don't have sound tables for them as an example, but for cars, weapons you have to have sounds added, damage factors, weapon or vehicle type, high speed, etc... it is really complicated and I think it would only be possible to make vehicles/weapons if you add a 3rd, config file next to the model files.

From my point of view, skins, weapons of cars are pretty much the same. Think about it, to add a skin if you to set the model, texture, walking style and voice (optional), for the weapons you can use the default sounds, anims and only the use a custom damage and model, which is the same for vehicles - custom model and handling (can be copied from default ones) and use default sounds. Obviously this is just one way I believe it can be done, obviously you can only do it for skins at the moment, but might be possible in future versions.
 
You can use the default stuff as well, but for cars you have to have a handling for them and for weapons you need to set the weapon type, cause imagine a Shotgun acting like an M4, feel me?
Sometimes default car handlings are not good enough for the modded car cause they might tip over when you turn the car, etc.

Don't forget carcols... how does one expect a custom car to be usable if it has no color/paint data?
