Red County Roleplay Continuity Overview
Summary
The purpose of this post is to give a general overview of the continuity of Red County Roleplay. In short, there have been past discussions of where the state of San Andreas is located, if it's a replacement for California, if California itself does exist, and so forth. These outlined overviews are expected of any player wishing to roleplay a character in our server’s version of the State of San Andreas, namely Red County, Bone County, and surrounding areas. We understand many members of the community may not agree with the opinion the server holds in comparisons, and many may differ in what they believe is 1:1 for the state itself. However, this was made with hopes to quell any confusion and endless debates on many aspects of the state, and to ensure everyone is aware of what the server's official stance and place is in lore.San Andreas does NOT replace California.
San Andreas is the 32nd State of the United States of America. All other states after it have been pushed up by one number in real-life comparison. The state itself is small in size similar to the tri-states, sitting on border with California along the Pacific Region. Encompassing Los Santos, San Fierro, and Las Venturas as it's major cities, with five distinct counties of Red County, Bone County, Whetstone, Tierra Robada, and Flint County. While strongly influenced by California Culture, San Andreas is a separate state that co-exists with the sunny state of California sharing a processive state-to-state relationship.Los Santos is the State Capital.
It’s no surprise that Los Santos is the state capital, as it’s the largest of the three major cities, with the biggest population and the greatest influence over how the state operatesSan Andreas is NOT an island, but connected to the US Mainland.
This might come as a surprise, as the map depicts it as an island. However, it’s important to remember that this was due to technical limitations at the time. If the game were made today, it would likely be connected to the U.S. mainland.Federal agencies exist.
Unlike later generations of GTA games, RCRP references real-life federal agencies such as the FBI, ATF, CIA, and DEA. While only the FBI is officially represented in-game, all other law enforcement branches are acknowledged as existing within the state of San Andreas. Players are not permitted to roleplay as members of these other agencies without explicit permission from the Faction Administration team. However, as of the time of writing, no additional law enforcement factions will be supported.Red County Sheriff's Department (RCSD) is the official LEO Faction of the server.
While other law enforcement agencies such as the LSPD, SFPD, and LVPD are acknowledged within the cities, the RCSD is the server’s only officially supported faction for general policing. Players are not permitted to portray other departments, except for background or narrative purposes. The RCSD is a fictional department and is not intended to represent or imitate any real-life agency; it should not be treated as such.COVID-19 is not taken in-character.
COVID-19 simply does not exist in our server's universe. We have chosen not to represent a topic that has deeply affected many people and remains sensitive for many. As such, any in-character references to COVID-19 are strictly prohibited.The rest of the US outside of San Andreas is named as is real-life.
Vice City and Liberty City exist as normal, alongside every other U.S. state. These two fictional states do not replace their real-life inspirations but instead exist as separate, independent states. This means the United States in our setting consists of 53 states, rather than the 50 found in real life.Real-life politics exist.
The current President of the United States is Donald J. Trump. Aside from the exclusion of COVID-19 this also includes all current wars on-going at this time, all other political elements remain consistent with real life. The State of San Andreas has its own governor, representatives, and full political structure. For those interested in political roleplay, San Andreas is considered a swing state, with no clearly defined party dominance at this time.Disclaimer: This is not a strictly enforced rule, nor should it be interpreted as something to impose on other players.
