I'm going to be inactive for about 30-35 days, is there any way to keep my items from resetting?

Unfortunately not, after 30 (give or take 5 days) your houses and business will be removed from you, and as far as I know exceptions are never given.
What you can do and if it's possible, log on every 5-10 days for a few seconds and your assets won't be wiped.
