im thinking about donating some money to the server but it is in pounds not dollars which would cost me about 50$ im not sure if i should or not also what are the downsides of donating?

There aren't any downsides to donating, silly.
On the other hand the advantages are just lovely.
Depending on how much you donate, you get up to thrice the amount of EXP and cash a non-donor receives each payday.
If you get to donator level 3 (30 GBP+) or donator level 4 (40 GBP+), you get a reasonable vehicle of your choice.
