Did I say longer passwords were NOT more secure?

Your password being weak/strong/LONG AF doesn't change anything.

This implies there is no security benefit.

Did I say forum passwords were NOT hashed?

RufioCas said:
all they need to do is search your e-mail/IP on the database and there you have the password.

This implies there is no hash on the passwords that are stored.

As I stated during the edit to make it clearer, what I meant was it didn't mean a lot in this particular incident. It lacked proper English, I agree, but as I said, it wasn't necessarily what I meant as explained in the edit.

What it implies is the very fact that all passwords can be found with the table method, it takes longer(and can be a pain in the ass) for strong passwords. But as I stated, it is NOT impossible. Your password being weak/strong/long/longest password ever doesn't change much. We both know which database I am talking about and no, I am not fear mongering.

Edit: Meh, fuck it. I will just post the announcement here;

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=130304

Most passwords were found via this method(not every password was found via this method). If you haven't changed your password after this announcement, this is YOUR fault. Not the management's.

Everyone is so quick to go for the throat... holy shit. You all need to fucking chill out a bit

We should just all be happy we get to waste away our wonderful lives re-creating the very thing we live in #Troll

But no really in all seriousness. Everyone just be glad everything is okay, fix your passwords, make them hard to guess, happy world.

Funny how everyone automatically assumes Evans is behind this when he didn't even do it. The passwords were whirlpool hashed and those with weak passwords were easily cracked, Booth created a script that salted passwords making it harder for them to be encrypted but since Tommy removed that script cracking passwords was done in seconds using a tool from a website.
