Faction Support Announcement
Hello everyone,
We're excited to share an update with the community regarding how the Faction Support Team will operate moving forward into the relaunch. In the past, Faction Management was often seen as overly restrictive and elitist in the way it handled faction concepts. We're aiming to shift away from that approach. Our goal is to foster a more open and supportive environment where community members feel encouraged to bring forward their faction ideas, while still assisting factions in improving in a variety of ways.
As previously mentioned in the relaunch announcement by TommyB, we're aiming to foster a more medium-heavy RP environment, rather than enforcing overly restrictive concepts or a rigid standard of ultra-realism across the board. This doesn't mean a drop in overall server standard; rather, it's about supporting an environment where players have the opportunity to create the factions they'd like, with guidance and assistance from our team to help them grow.
As a team, we recognize that the concept of "ultra-realism" no longer fits the direction we're heading with RCRP, and we're committed to leaving that mindset in the past.
Dynamic Faction System
Previously mentioned in the relaunch announcement, a dynamic faction system has now been implemented on the server, this allows players on the server to create their own factions from scratch, this allows players to:
- Use /createfaction
- Assign their own unique name
- Assign their own unique ranks
- Invite their own members
- Set the faction to either legal or illegal
- The use of Faction Announcements
- The use of /alias
- The use of a mountable GPS on vehicles (this can be used to track players via their vehicles.)
- The ability to order cocaine, heroin & weed
- The ability to order weapon crates
- The use of /elm
- EMT features
- The use of /gunrack
- The use of news features & PSA
- The use of /roadblock
- The use of /snowplow
- Trucking Features
Strawman Scheme & Future Plans
The Strawman Scheme is currently operating on a smaller scale than before and has been assigned to select players who previously used it to a solid standard. Due to the high volume of applicants and existing participants, we've decided to keep the scheme closed for the time being. This decision comes from the difficulty in managing the scheme effectively and issuing refunds in a timely manner. That being said @Sado has been reviewing those previously on the scheme and will be allowing a limited number of players back in, those interested can reach out to him via the forums.
The foundations for script support for the Strawman Scheme have been laid. While we don’t have an official release date for the update, we expect it to follow a similar timeline to the drug system updates. Our goal is to avoid overcomplicating how the Strawman Scheme operates, so we've discussed modeling it after the existing system used by factions to order drug and gun crates. This would mean shorter wait times for those expecting deliveries and significantly less forum work for those managing the scheme.
Faction Schemes
Faction Schemes have now been streamlined into a single form. While we await additional script support, we will continue providing factions with monetary rewards for their IC schemes. These rewards are currently divided into two categories and are available to both legal and illegal factions.
Faction Schemes
- Schemes; Illegal income activities, such as chop-shops and frauds.
- Revenue; Legal business operations, such as trucking jobs etc.
Roleplay Reward Requests
- Large-Scale Faction events.
- Sophisticated Robberies.
- Online scams and fraud.
- Enticing in-character business or service deployment.
- Online Services (Forum based).
You can read more about these schemes in THIS THREAD
Faction Advisors
Finally, we've revamped the role of Faction Consultants with the aim of making it more of a support position. We want Faction Advisors to be approachable and to work collaboratively with factions to help them achieve their goals. We understand that some players may want to create a faction but find the initial step intimidating or simply don't know where to start and that's where the Faction Advisor Team comes in.
Below are the key duties of our Faction Advisors.
- Helping factions achieve their creative goals, without doing the work for them.
- Support Faction-led events and initiatives.
- Offering guidance on media, thread styling and faction presentation.
- Offering references and current trends to help factions develop.
- Relay information up the chain to Faction Administration for any issues that require their attention.
Recruitment is currently open, so if you've got a long history with faction related roleplay and/or are eager to help newer factions establish themselves and grow on the server then you can apply - HERE
