Today at around 17:15 the San Andreas State Fire Department received a 9-1-1 call about a Structure fire at The Welcome Pump, once FD arrived at an estimated time of 3 minutes, they realized what they were up against, but they knew that they would do what they can to make sure the fire was out, at 17:20, they sent two teams, the primary attack team and the exterior attack team to begin attacking the fire that was raging out.
Once the primary attack team entered the building, Assistant Chief Charlotte Steer was knocked down by a small pillar and was stuck. The Fire Department had to act fast to assist the downed firefighter. Once the once the Fire Department put out the exterior, Deputy Chief Jamie Cole entered the building to assist another Firefighter that already entered the building to help the Assistant Chief, they spent about eight minutes working hard to free her from the debris and she was carried outside to the medic unit on the backboard, She was transported to the Montgomery Hospital, and was treated. She is recovering quickly, and thanks to the quick response from the Fire Department and State Police, the Welcome pump only needs a few repairs, and will soon be fully operational.
