Section 1: General Interaction

Depending on whether it’s in a casual business such as a restaurant or mall, the security will seem very passive but alert until something happens. This is due to the fact that they are simply there to ensure safety in these instances. They will usually avoid interacting with people as to not intimidate or scare people within the establishment. When a security guard does address you in these places, they usually have a concern. If you haven’t done anything wrong, it is better to just answer honestly and be open and comply. Inconveniencing security only makes their job and your life harder. Security can stop you for multiple reasons, being intoxicated (liquor or drugs), being disorderly, suspected to be armed and dangerous, etc. When addressing security, they will try to match the tone they are presented with. In order to not scare off clients, however if you are aggressive or rude to security, they will often times be blunt or rude back.

How to approach security:
Polite approach:
  • Greet them calmly and politely.
  • Explain to the member of security what the issue is.
  • Ask if they can help you resolve the issue.
  • Thank them once they have done their job if you wish to be polite.
Rude approach:
  • Order them to solve the issue.
  • Insult them if they refuse, typically them stupid, incompetent or useless.
  • Try to assert dominance to make them do what you wish.

Section 2: Nightclubs, Strip Clubs, Bars, Casinos etc.

Roleplaying drunk is a crucial part of roleplay in these businesses, and it can cause conflict between your character and security. There are several types of drunks that security encounter: love drunks, aggressive drunks, sad drunks, hyper drunks etc. When you have alcohol in your system you are likely to become one of the types listed. It is rather rare for people to be aggressive drunks, as often times when people are drunk they are just looking for a good time with friends. However, if your character has a reason to become agitated, they will be more aggressive than usual, yet it is important to remember that alcohol does offset your balance, hand eye co-ordination, vision and your resiliency would be lowered. In instances where fights would break out, you are likely to throw lighter hits or miss. Often times, a sober person will win the fight between a sober and a drunk person.

Effects of being drunk:
  • Slurred speech
  • Drowsiness
  • Distorted vision and hearing
  • Impaired judgement
  • Decreased perception and coordination

When entering a night club or strip club, there will always be a long queue to wait in, this is due to nightclubs and strip clubs being high security. Shouting to hurry up will not speed up the queue, it'll simply slow it down as security will be distracted by your shouting. They will ID everyone thoroughly and pat everybody down. This is in order to show integrity. If you are approaching a bouncer or a member of security, it can often times be intimidating as these people are trained for their job, you are also more than likely tipsy from predrinking (a huge part of club culture), so the situation can seem a little bit daunting in case they refuse you entry for being too intoxicated. A key point to remember when in these places, you are likely intoxicated, a security guard will be usually be able to out pace you in a fight, unless you are entirely sober or have only had one or two drinks.

When requested by security to leave in a nightclub, strip club, bar or casino, it is better to just leave and re-enter in the methods in which they have told you. Security are often equipped with heavy vests, body cameras, batons, pepper spray etc. As a drunk civilian, you are unlikely to want to get hurt, unless being drunk makes you exceptionally cocky and aggressive. If you are aggressive, do remember to think about their height, stature, distance etc. When being escorted off of the property, they will not be trying to hurt you, they will just be maintaining a firm grip of your shoulder, arm or torso. However, if you get violent, they will use more force, such as their body weight, batons and pepper spray.

Section 3: Federal and Private Properties

Federal Property - Security on federal properties, will often times carry shotguns. This is due to it being a federal property, they will be protecting a sensitive area that contains government information, for example, research centres, court houses, etc. They will have strict security, with scanners for bags, to ensure that there is nothing of harm in them, as well as IDing thoroughly, they may even scan the ID, take a photograph of the individual and save this information until the event is over. Whilst serving on federal property, security personnel will be very attentive to their surroundings, pulling people up on minor details, due to the important of safety in these situations.

Private Property - Security on private properties, usually are more relaxed than federal properties, however, trespassing is still an offence and if you don't listen to the requests to leave, authorities will be contacted and you can be detained and charged. Often times, it isn't worth kicking up a fuss when requested to leave, it is easier to just comply to avoid criminal charges.

Section 4: IDing and Frisking

When entering bars, restaurants and some other establishments, it can be common practice to be ID’d and frisked. Not all places will act on the same processes, however it is up to the owners discretion. If it is a bar, you will have to be ID’d to be enter, due to alcohol licensing. If an establishment is found to be serving a minor, they will be issued strikes to their licenses and may have it revoked.

Frisking:

Frisking is a common process in places, sometimes they will do it randomly, or it will be routine to check everybody. One thing to know when being frisked, if you are being frisked by the opposite sex, you can request somebody of the same sex if it would make you feel more comfortable. Often, male security guards won’t pat down females, and vice versa. This is in order to not make the patrons of the establishment uncomfortable.

A typical procedure when asking to frisk a person, would to be to ask them to spread their arms and legs, a security guard will typically pat their torso, thighs and arms down. They will also request to look inside of any bags on a person, they will usually just flash a torch into it, and feel the bag for a few seconds to ensure there is no weaponry. They may also request you to empty the contents of the bag, to ensure their own safety this is in case there is any sharp weaponry inside of the bag.

Checking IDs:

When it comes to drivers licenses in the United States, they will have a star in the upper right corner. State IDs have a microprint on them which is one of the easiest ways to check if a card is real. Often other forms of IDs will have holographic seals. Another way that ID’s are tested is by holding them under a holographic light, in San Andres (California) it would show a lighter image of the cardholder. They will check for misspellings also, often times they will even ask questions if they are unsure.

A typical procedure when it comes to checking IDs is to request the patron for ID, glance at it for a few seconds ensuring all of the marks are there and looking at the patron to confirm it is them. If it is a form of ID they haven’t seen before, or they feel the patron looks younger than the age on the ID, they will often times flash the ID under a UV light, or into a scanner to ensure it is an official form of ID.

Section 5: Roleplaying a Fake ID

Typically, when a security guard is presented with a fake ID, the individual will seem quiet and shy, often times awkward and anxious. This is because you can’t always be sure of the security measures taken to ensure your ID is real. Some places just take a glance and will let you through, whereas others will be very careful with them, for example scanning it and loading it to a database. Other procedures are using a UV light to look for the image of the user on the card.
If you do /changedob right before getting ID'ed, that's PG, expect to be punished.

The image above shows a real and a fake drivers license. USA licenses all vary state to state, but the majority have the red or orange star, this is presented in San Andreas (California) too. When looked at with a UV light they will also show a smaller replica of the photo on the ID; as shown in the real drivers license.

Roleplaying your fake ID:
  • Approaching the bouncer you would be overly confident or a little bit nervous. Typically an /ame would suffice to show this.
  • Your hands may be shakey, you might be sweaty, you might be looking around nervously.
  • Typically your ID will slide through, but they may question you on the information on your ID if you look young.
  • If the card is scanned with a UV light, it will not show the UV markings of a real ID if you made it yourself. If it does show UV markings due to being an expensive fake, they will not be perfect.

When roleplaying a fake ID, you should have roleplay screenshots of obtaining it, please refer to section 6 for more information on this.

Section 6: How to Obtain a Fake ID

If you wish to roleplay a fake ID, you should have obtained it and retained screenshots of the roleplay. It is best to have the screenshots at the ready so that the individual can keep the queue moving quickly.

Black Market:
One way is to try and obtain one on the dark web rply, it is very easy to research, there are multiple retailers who do it, these IDs would not be detected unless put under a UV light typically, or if the owner does not know the information on them.

Steps on using the Dark Web to get your fake ID:
  • Install a dark web browser
  • Access a black market website on said broswer
  • Scroll through the website until finding desired fake ID
  • Order the fake ID, paying in BTC
  • RP receiving it in the post

Creating a Fake ID:
One way to do this is to make it yourself, these would often be visible fakes, but if a security guard is busy and distracted it might slip through. When creating your fake ID, do what you think works, it'd be based entirely on your characters craftsmanship. Your characters roleplay will determine how convincing the ID is to a member of security.

If there are any additions or changes people would like me to make, feel free to PM me and I will add them. I made this guide because I feel that a large portion of the server have never come into contact with security in real life, let alone in serious situations and I feel this will benefit people in understanding how security roleplay, as well as how to roleplay with them. All of the knowledge is based off of knowledge I've learned from working closely with security in real life.
