These mods will notify you that you have a private message, it will come up in an enhanced alert box.

I do not wish to have a pop-up message telling me that I have a private message, it is a good idea though, but I can't be dealing with that.

Account Settings -> Board preferences -> Edit global settings -> Pop up window on new private message
