Living in Red County: Public Opinion

By Henry Sparks Editor: Lyanna Maxwell
Research by Alex Shukeiro, Henry Sparks
Published 21st February 2019

Red County is a rural area, containing many hills and forests, and a stream flows through it, from Palomino Creek in the east to Flint County in the west. There are also many farms in Red County, like Blueberry Acres and the Hilltop Farm. The county is bordered by Los Santos to the south, Flint County and San Fierro to the west, and Bone County and Las Venturas to the north.

There are four small towns located in Red County: Montgomery, Palomino Creek, Dillimore and Blueberry.

Despite the poor living conditions in which most of the inhabitants live, Red County has become a magnet for more wealthy citizens who have /invaded/ the region and have opened up multiple businesses, earning substantial amounts of money. From small shops to nightclubs and casinos, Red County has it all.
In Montgomery, considered by many to be "the center of action", luxury cars and wealthy people have become a common sight for the people who live there.

Sadly, there is also a dark part of the story: among the imposing homes and gardens, small shelters built from scrap metal and wood can be seen; the poorest of the poor live in improvised shacks, looking through garbage for something to eat, only a few steps away from the multi-million dollar mansions. Another obvious effect of poverty is the disturbing rise of crime in the region: police sirens, gang fights, shootings, murders, robberies, rapes are becoming more and more common, affecting the peace and safety of the citizens.

SAN Network reporters interviewed a few citizens and asked them what their opinion about Red County was:

Carl:

Red County is not a bad place to live in. There are many good citizens here but greed is powerful.

Being humble in this town is part of surviving.
Ryan:

Crazy drivers all around the place. The suicide rate is very high - it happens every week. There have been two arsons taking place no short than two or three months.

Although I love to serve the county, I think that half of this county's population are, excuse my language, idiot drivers.

It is a nice place to live in. After all, it's the countryside.
Jay:

I'm new in town. Tryna meet people around here. People around here seem pretty friendly if you ask me.

I dunno man, what do you think I could do for a living around here? Lots of green and dirt...

Red County is not bad place for living. BUT - those gangs in Palomino and Montgomery are like cancer. I have lived in many countries and none of them had so many retarded gangs living there. And cops are doing literally nothing to protect citizens of them.

How is it you forget to mention Blueberry which is even worse than the other two?

Have you ever witnessed a gang fight? What can be changed to make things better?
